Tax Sale Surplus Monies

After recent amendments to New York Real Property Law, Counties no longer are allowed to keep surplus monies from real estate tax sales. If you are the prior owner, lienholder, or judgment creditor, or if you have some other interest in real estate sold at tax sale, you may be entitled to a claim to the surplus monies. If you believe you are entitled to surplus monies from a tax sale, contact our office to discuss your options.
